Thinking about buying a used Skier's Edge?
If you are considering the purchase of a previously owned Skier’s Edge machine or parts from Ebay, Craigslist or other auction sites, etc., we want to make sure you are well informed about the machine or parts as they may be out-of-date. We want to be able to provide you with this important information. Every Skier’s Edge machine has a unique serial number to identify it and its parts. Before you purchase a used machine: MAKE SURE THE MACHINE HAS A SERIAL NUMBER. We do not support Skier’s Edge machines without serial numbers. Before you purchase a used machine, we recommend that you call us with the used machine’s serial number in order to provide you with the machine’s history including the model, year, and other pertinent information. With a serial number, we can tell you if the machine is upgradeable to accommodate our current state-of-the-art platforms and accessories, or if the machine is out of date and unable to accommodate our current accessories.
Tips to Consider when Purchasing a Used Skier’s Edge Machine:
- Most of the machines sold online are sold for hundreds of dollars more than the original price! We’ve seen 10-20 year-old machines sell for as much as a current brand new machine purchased directly from the Skier’s Edge Company — without a trial period or a warranty! Buying directly from the Skier’s Edge Company provides you with a 30-day home trial and a warranty on all our products.
- Many used machine buyers don’t realize the used machine they are buying may be of the old vintage that teaches the old ski technique, and not the current techniques! All Skier’s Edge models designated as “Skier’s Edge” -“Original’, “SE II”, and some “SE III’s” were designed around the old style, straight ski. Modern ski techniques require a wider stance and edging with both skis. All current Skier’s Edge machines “S4”s, “QS5”s, "T5"s, and "LT Carvers" are designed to simulate skiing techniques on today’s modern skis.
BEWARE: Every day, there are machines on ebay that are over 20 years old but labeled as a current version.
- Many used machine buyers don’t realize the used machine they are buying cannot be upgraded, or is no longer supported. Many older machines cannot be upgraded to incorporate our current platforms and popular accessories. If you’re not sure, call us and we will gladly help you identify these potential problems.
- Beware of Skier’s Edge imposters! The Skier’s Edge products are patented all over the world. Many have tried to copy our products, so don’t be fooled by imitations! We do not support these under any circumstances. Do not buy a used machine if it does not have a serial number
Lastly, if you do purchase a used Skier’s Edge machine, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND REPLACING THE POWER BANDS. The Power Bands wear down over time, just like automobile tires. The Power Bands are crucial to your safety on the machine. We recommend replacing Power Bands every two years. Replacement bands are available only through the Skier’s Edge Company and carry a two-year warranty. Using Power Bands older than two years will be at your own risk. Skier's Edge will not sell any replacement parts or upgrades for a used machine unless Power Bands are purchased or are less than 2 years old. As a reminder, we WILL NOT sell replacement power bands or any parts for any machine that does not have its original serial number.

A second time around skier at 70, I was out of shape, overweight, and recovering from back surgery. I hopped a Skier's Edge and nine months later my skiing has improved to a level "9", I've dropped one size and lost 15 pounds, not to mention my improved balance and endurance. A great machine for all ages, fun to use, and the rewards are what your entire advertising claims. When riding the chair I'm frequently asked how I stay in shape. My answer is "The Skier's Edge. It's the best machine I've ever used."

I'm a 61 year-old skier, and last season had trouble keeping up with a friend in his 70s (he is an excellent skier). He kept telling me about his Skier's Edge conditioning machine, and at the end of last season I purchased a Powder/Mogul Master Skier's Edge machine. I am amazed. This year, with the help of my Skier's Edge, I not only can keep up with my older friend, but have Skier's 10 and 15 years younger than myself asking me to hold up while they catch their breath. I've done nothing different to prepare for this ski season except work hard on my Mogul Master. Thanks for a great training device.
